Terms of use

These terms govern your use of akil.build (the “site”) and the content published on it. The site is operated by Akil Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [[COMPANY_NUMBER]]; registered office [[REGISTERED_ADDRESS]]). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

1. What the site is

akil.build is the public website of Akil Ltd. It publishes editorial content about the construction industry — including The Construction Intelligence Brief, articles and papers — and describes the company’s products and services. Subscribing to the Brief is covered by the separate subscriber terms. Nothing on the site is an offer capable of acceptance; engagements are agreed in writing.

2. Editorial content is not advice

Content on the site is general commentary and analysis, prepared with care from the sources cited. It is not legal, contractual, engineering, financial or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for advice on your own circumstances. Source-confidence tags (verified, reported, claimed, analysis) describe our editorial confidence in a source; they are not warranties of accuracy. You remain responsible for any decision you take on the basis of the content.

3. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the content of the site — text, figures, images, the akil name and logomark — is owned by or licensed to Akil Ltd and protected by copyright and trade-mark law. You may read, link to, quote briefly with attribution, and share links to pages. You may not republish, scrape in bulk, or use the content to train machine-learning models without our written permission. Third-party material quoted or cited remains the property of its owners and is used under citation.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use the site to do anything unlawful; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system; submit forms with false information or on behalf of someone without their consent; interfere with the operation of the site; or send unsolicited communications using any address published on it.

5. Forms and submissions

When you submit a form (contact, subscription, paper request) we process the information as described in the privacy notice. Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile; by submitting you accept that a bot-protection check is run. We may decline to respond to any submission.

6. Links to other sites

The site links to third-party sources. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link is a citation, not an endorsement.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee it. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, and may update these terms, at any time. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last reviewed; continued use after a change is acceptance of the revised terms.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Akil Ltd excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the site or its content, including indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
